It then sinks to the bottom of various bodies of water, salt and fresh. It is then mined and crushed to a talcum powder consistency. Being a bone it is packed with trace minerals. This can then be ingested by adding a small amount to juice or water. The body, human body and animals then are able to absorb these minerals. It has been proven to be extremely useful to help with Arthritis sufferers. WARNING only buy and ingest food grade! They do add several products to DE when selling it for different uses. We at Wells Family Farms only use or sell food grade. Another use, in your animals, no matter the species, it is important to worm them. Feed on a set schedule for two weeks and you will take care of most worms. Some may take longer, but it won't hurt them due to the other properties it has. You can use it like you would a flea powder, ear mites and most parasites. It works in a very tricky way!! This tiny bone fragment is much like a small razor blade. As an insect or parasite crawls over or ingest the DE it slices them and the dehydrate and die. Non toxic, No poisons, safe around all kids and pets! Again, Please visit the website listed above for much more detailed information. Input products for a certified organic beef farm, can and do include a few interesting items. Since the whole point of being certified organic is to produce your products as close as you can to how nature would do it. This means that all that work that the scientists do has to stay in the lab. OMRI Organic Materials Review Institute has been the organization to go to for the correct information. Follow this link to their extensive website. http://www.omri.org/
